WHO ARE WE?
Pan-Africanism is the belief that people of African descent have common interests and should beunified. Historically, Pan-Africanism has often taken the shape of a political or cultural movement. There are many varieties of Pan-Africanism. In its narrowest interpretation, Pan-Africanists envision a unified African nation where all people of the African Diaspora can live in prosperity.
The Pan African Movement, Africa, and Diaspora, formed on 25th May 2017, takes the approach of utilizing the unifying power of trade, women empowerment, youth advocacy, and cultural diversity to bring people of black descent together. We are therefore steadfast in our commitment to the social, economic, and political emancipation of the African continent. Over the years, we have tirelessly worked towards achieving these goals and witnessed significant successes through our various initiatives and activities.
Our organization has convened numerous events across the African landscape, each dedicated to fostering economic growth, trade, and cooperation within the African family. We have proudly organized conferences, trade exhibitions, workshops, and community outreach programs, exemplifying our unwavering dedication to tangible impact. Notably, our activities have spanned from Zambia, where we partnered with the Lusaka Chambers of Commerce, to Zimbabwe, with a strong focus on agriculture, as well as the Democratic Republic of Congo, where we collaborated with both the Kenya Chambers of Commerce to open the region for East African Trade and later on partnered with Nation Media Group to organize an entrepreneurship conference and expo 2023 that positions Africa’s Enterprises for Global Competitiveness.
Moreover, in collaboration with East African Chamber of Commerce, most recently organized Zanzibar Business Conference. These conferences have offered an interactive platform for enterprises and entrepreneurs to engage, trade, share ideas, benchmark, and network across the region. In doing so, we have laid the foundation for a regional “entrepreneurship movement” that transcends borders and fosters sustainable economic development.
The collaborations between Pan African Movement Kenya, The African Women’s Development and Communications Network, AFRODAD, and the Africa Parliamentary Network on Illicit Financial Flows and Tax Justice contribute to fostering economic freedom, unity, and prosperity in Africa. By amplifying the voices of African women, prioritizing their needs in policy dialogues, and advocating for equitable and sustainable development, these engagements collectively work towards a more inclusive and prosperous Africa. Addressing illicit financial flows and promoting tax justice further supports the continent’s economic stability, reinforcing the shared goal of building a sustainable and united Africa.
In addition, our engagement with various ambassadors and representatives of heads of state has enhanced advocacy for economic freedom and unity. Establishing relationships at diplomatic levels enables us to garner support for our agenda, fostering cooperation between nations and creating aconducive environment for the implementation of policies that align with the shared vision of a prosperous Africa. Through these interactions, we can influence key decision-makers, promoting collaborative efforts that transcend national borders.
Furthermore, our involvement with African kingdoms, notably the Ngoni and Zulu kingdoms, during cultural festivals plays a crucial role in their mission. By incorporating cultural elements and engaging with traditional institutions, the movement connects with the roots of African identity. This approach not only preserves and celebrates cultural heritage but also involves young people in these activities, instilling a sense of pride and belonging. In doing so, the movement ensures that the aspirations for economic freedom and unity are not only rooted in policy but also resonate with the diverse and vibrant cultural fabric of the continent, fostering a holistic approach to their overarching goals.
Our outreach to universities and active involvement in youth spaces signifies a strategic investment in the future of the continent. By engaging with the energetic and dynamic youth demographic, the movement taps into a pool of potential future leaders. These interactions not only provide a platform for disseminating their vision for economic freedom and unity but also create a space for dialogue, exchange of ideas, and the cultivation of a sense of responsibility among the youth.
Through these university visits and engagements in youth spaces, the movement fosters a sense of ownership and commitment to their cause among the younger generation. Empowering young people with knowledge and encouraging their active participation ensures a continuity of the advocacy for economic freedom and unity. Moreover, by nurturing leadership qualities in the youth, the movement is sowing the seeds for a sustainable and progressive Africa, where the next generation of leaders is well-informed and aligned with the goals of the Pan African Movement. Overall, these efforts with universities and youth spaces are instrumental in building a foundation for lasting progress and impact.
Our core areas of focus include commerce, tourism, education, agriculture, and technological synergy, all aimed at enhancing the socio-economic well-being of our African brethren, particularly within the East and Central African regions.
Therefore, we stand firm in our commitment to fuel the economic liberation of the African continent. Immerse yourself in our mission grounded in the principles of Pan-Africanism, championing economic freedom, unity, and prosperity through trade, education, technology, agriculture, culture, and political activation.
